Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have been urged to show King Charles “courtesy” over Thursday’s royal diary clash.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are travelling to Nottingham to visit The Community Recording Studio (CRS) in St Ann’s, marking their first joint engagement since returning to the UK.
Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla will attend the Ceremonial Opening of the Seventh Senedd, the Welsh Parliament, in Cardiff Bay on the same day.
Speaking on behalf of OLBG, former royal butler Grant Harrold exclusively told GB News: “Prince Harry and Meghan’s day of engagements in Nottingham clashes with the King and Queen’s trip to Wales for the Ceremonial Opening of the Senedd.
“I imagine it is pure coincidence, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to ruffle some feathers.
“I think the King will be extremely frustrated by it, as will his team.
“They know that the chances of getting any media coverage have all but disappeared, as everyone will be far more interested in Meghan and Harry’s outing.
“As it’s their first joint engagement since being in the UK, it will be what everyone is talking about.”
Mr Harrold continued: “The royal households work hard to avoid diary clashes for exactly this reason.
“The King’s team will be in constant communication with William and Catherine’s team to avoid clashes; their diaries are extremely complicated and rigid for this very reason.
“But as they are no longer working royals, Harry and Meghan don’t work to the official royal diary.
“They don’t need to check what’s going on, and their advisors aren’t working with the King and William’s teams to ensure this doesn’t happen.

“So I think this is likely just how it’s going to be going forward, and I think there will be a lot of frustration from both the King and Camilla, plus Catherine and William.
“Whether they are an accident or on purpose is something we will probably never know, but the outcome is the same.”
Mr Harrold concluded: “Even though Harry and Meghan haven’t technically done anything wrong, I think it would have been wise for them to run the dates past the King before booking the day.
“Just as a bit of courtesy and a respectful gesture.
“Things are still very tense and sensitive at the moment, and I think they should be going above and beyond to ensure they don’t cause any upset.”
