Prince William and Princess Kate “look more united than ever” after the couple went to “hell and back” throughout their first 15 years of marriage, a commentator has claimed.

The royal couple hailed 2025 as “brilliant” in a recent social media post, after the Princess of Wales began the year by announcing she was in remission from cancer.

The Waleses completed a move to Forest Lodge in the latter part of the year, having been involved in hundreds of royal engagements, including the Trooping of the Colour and the VE Day 80 celebrations.

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl shared how the duo “have stuck together through awful times, and have become even more tight-knit”.

She told OK!: “William and Kate look more united today than ever.

“They are a proper partnership, and theirs is a marriage based on friendship, love and mutual respect. They’ve been to hell and back in the past year or two, but they look very, very strong together, and they are clearly very in love.”

Ms Nicholl praised the couple for how well they coped with Kate’s cancer treatment, crediting the Prince of Wales for being so open about his love for his wife.

She said: “Going through cancer can make or break a couple, but we’ve heard William speak so movingly and openly about his love for his wife, and his admiration for everything she’s been through and navigated.

“He’s spoken very candidly about 2024 being the toughest year of his life.

“He didn’t know if he was going to lose his wife and the mother of his children, and that is an awful place to be.”

The Princess of Wales shared how William’s support during her treatment provided her with “a great source of comfort and reassurance”.

The pair took to social media to reminisce over the previous year, showcasing a series of photographs and videos from across 2025.

The couple’s first photo featured their three children, Prince George, Prince Charlotte and Prince Louis at Trooping the Colour in June.

Footage was included from the event, as was the Princess of Wales’s Spring video from May.

William’s trip to Rio for Cop30 and the Earthshot Prize Awards encompassed a photo of the future king in front of Christ the Redeemer, reminiscent of his mother.

Another picture showed Kate and Louis smiling at the Together at Christmas Carol Concert, which was broadcast on Christmas Eve.

A video of Charlotte and the Princess of Wales was also in the post, showing a snippet of the mother and daughter duo playing Holm Sound by Erland Cooper.

Other images included George interacting with veterans during the VE Day celebrations in May.

The young prince attended the event alongside his parents as the royals marked 80 years since the end of World War Two in Europe.

The Prince and Princess of Wales captioned the post: “Happy New Year to everyone around the world! Thank you for a brilliant 2025 and looking forward to 2026!!”
