A baby boy has died in hospital following an incident at a property in the Cambridgeshire town of March.

Emergency services were summoned to St John’s Chase at approximately 11am on January 3.

Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service were already attending to the infant.

The child was discovered in what was described as a serious and life-threatening state.

He was transported to hospital in a critical condition but could not be saved.

The infant passed away on January 8.

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed they are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
