More than three decades of specialist heating experience are being brought to a wider online audience as a family-operated business serving Shropshire and the Welsh border introduces a new website dedicated to domestic oil boiler services.

Smiths Heating (Wales) Ltd has launched the website to give existing and prospective customers clearer access to information about oil boiler maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, installations and heating upgrades.

The company has been developed through three generations of family involvement and continues to concentrate on oil-fired heating systems.

Its services are particularly relevant in rural areas, where oil remains a widely used heating fuel for properties located away from the mains gas network.

Information from the 2021 Census, published by the Welsh Government, shows that 27.7% of households in Powys relied exclusively on oil central heating.

Across Wales, 7.8% of households used oil as their sole central heating source, demonstrating the greater importance of this fuel in certain rural communities.

These figures reinforce the need for appropriately experienced engineers who can maintain and repair oil-fired heating equipment.

For households depending on these systems, access to professional servicing and breakdown assistance is important for maintaining reliable heating, particularly during colder periods.

Smiths Heating (Wales) Ltd works throughout Oswestry, Shropshire and Powys, offering specialist services for domestic oil boilers and associated heating systems.

Its new website outlines the available services and provides information about the locations supported by the company.

Murray Drennan, Director at Smiths Heating (Wales) Ltd, said:

“Oil heating remains essential for many rural households across Shropshire and Powys, particularly during the colder months. We wanted the new website to make it easier for homeowners to find the specialist services they need, while also reflecting the experience and personal service that have been part of the business for more than 35 years.”

The launch represents a further development for a business that has continued to build on its specialist knowledge while retaining a personal approach to customer service.

Rather than offering general plumbing work, the company has maintained a dedicated focus on oil boiler servicing, breakdown repairs, installations and heating improvements.

Smiths Heating (Wales) Ltd is OFTEC Registered and recognised as a Worcester Accredited Service Partner.

These credentials complement the practical experience gained through its long-standing work with domestic oil heating systems.

Its engineers also operate service vans stocked with commonly required replacement components, helping them complete many repairs during an initial appointment.

The ability to address faults without waiting for additional parts can help minimise inconvenience for households, especially those situated in rural communities.

The company recognises that customers increasingly expect to find detailed information about local services online.

While personal referrals remain an important part of its established reputation, the new website offers another way for homeowners to understand the company’s expertise and make contact.

By improving its digital presence, Smiths Heating (Wales) Ltd is continuing to adapt its communications while preserving the specialist focus developed across three generations.

The business remains dedicated to providing oil heating services for households throughout Oswestry, Shropshire and Powys.
