Television presenter Coleen Nolan made her comeback to the ITV daytime programme on Tuesday after a fortnight away, revealing she had welcomed two new grandchildren during her absence.

The 60-year-old panellist rejoined colleagues Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Mariella Frostrup for the broadcast.

Upon her return, Ms Langsford greeted her as “nanny Coleen”, prompting the star to quip: “Honestly, I’ve come back to work for a rest. I’ve had two of them in two weeks.”

The presenter explained that her daughter Ciara had given birth to Sidney Ray, followed shortly afterwards by her son Jake Cruz-Carter welcoming his second child.

These latest arrivals bring Ms Nolan’s total number of grandchildren to four.

The presenter revealed that her grandson, Sidney Ray, encountered medical complications immediately following his arrival on October 29.

The infant, who weighed 9lb 10oz at birth, experienced breathing difficulties that required medical intervention.

The Loose Women star explained that her daughter Ciara underwent a planned caesarean section due to the baby’s size.

“It was all lovely, and initially, I was going to be there. Ciara had a C-section because he was so big,” she told viewers.

However, the joyful occasion quickly turned worrying when Nolan received an alarming message about her newborn grandson’s health.

The breathing troubles emerged shortly after delivery, transforming what should have been a celebratory moment into a concerning situation for the family.

Ms Nolan described the anxious moments that followed after receiving the initial text from her daughter’s partner, Max.

“Then I got a text in less than an hour saying, ‘Sidney is here, he’s 9lb 10 but he is just having a bit of trouble breathing’,” she recounted.

The television personality found herself in an agonising wait for further updates. She explained that she “didn’t hear anything for like half an hour”, leaving her feeling “frantic” at home.

Despite her worry, Ms Nolan resisted the urge to contact the new parents directly.

“I didn’t want to bother them,” she admitted, acknowledging the delicate situation whilst Ciara remained in hospital care.

Relief finally came when the star received confirmation that her grandson was recovering well.

“Then she told me that he was absolutely fine. He just needed help breathing, so it all went from being ahh to ooh,” she explained to the panel.

The newborn required several days of hospital care, though Ms Nolan reassured viewers this was not unusual.

“He spent a couple of days on the ward, but it is quite common with big babies,” she noted.

Throughout Sidney’s hospital stay, his parents remained by his side.

Ms Nolan revealed that “Ciara and Max stayed with him the whole week,” ensuring the infant received continuous family support during his recovery.

The presenter confirmed that Sidney has since made a full recovery and is now home with his family.

Ms Nolan took the opportunity to express her gratitude towards the medical staff who cared for her grandson. “Can I just give a big shoutout to the staff because they were incredible,” she said during the broadcast.

She also shared the exhausting reality of supporting her daughter during the ordeal, admitting that travelling to and from the hospital — located thirty minutes from her home, left her worn out by week’s end.

Sidney’s arrival expanded Ms Nolan’s role as grandmother to four youngsters. She previously welcomed granddaughter Amelia through son Shane Jr in 2016, whilst son Jake became a father for the first time last year.

Jake’s partner gave birth to their second child, Cruz-Carter, shortly after Sidney’s arrival, completing the double celebration that prompted Nolan’s temporary break from television duties.
