Princess Kate has been praised for her “hands-on mum” parenting style, being “admired for practising what she preaches”.

The Princess of Wales, who is the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, “understands the pressures that exist for many working parents, and means every word” in the advice she gives.

Former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond credited the future Queen for the way she balances her work with family life.

“I admire Catherine… She is a hands-on mum as much as she can possibly be and she has encouraged William to be a full-on dad,” she told The Mirror.

Ms Bond explained that the Princess of Wales is focused on early development for youngsters, believing it to be incredibly “important”.

The commentator said: “Obviously they [William and Kate] are both incredibly privileged to have some choice in the matter, and they’ve taken a fair bit of flak for doing things like ring-fencing school holidays as family time.

“But Catherine believes passionately that these early years in her children’s lives are by far the most important and formative.”

Ms Bond pointed out that Kate, like many other parents, has to deal with her health, work and time while being a mother.

The commentator said: “She was also speaking as a mother with the awful added pressure of managing ill health, following her diagnosis.

“There’s no doubt she understands and appreciates that being able to take time off from work to prioritise her health and her family was a privilege, and is incredibly grateful for this.

“Now she appears to be using her platform to highlight the good that she knows can come from that privilege, for the benefit of other parents and society as a whole. It is a cause that is incredibly close to her heart.”

The Prince of Wales admitted that Kate “does the bulk of” school runs, illustrating her committed approach to being a mother.

When speaking to some of the UK’s most influential business leaders, the Princess of Wales encouraged members to support, encourage and enable their employees to find a healthy work-life balance.

During a speech, the mother-of-three said: “Every one of you interacts with your own environment; a home, a family, a business, a workforce, a community.

“These are the ecosystems that you yourselves help to weave.

“Imagine a world where each of these environments were built on valuing time and tenderness just as much as productivity and success.”

The Princess of Wales is due to make an outing this week in London, visiting the Anna Freud charity on Thursday.

Kate will explore how relationships and connections influence the life trajectories of infants, children and adolescents.

Kensington Palace has revealed that the visit will see the princess examining the crucial impact of early bonds on young people’s development and future wellbeing.

The engagement follows her recent address at the Future Workforce Summit, where she emphasised how stable, caring relationships provide the foundation children require to flourish.
