Millions of state pensioners and claimants of benefit support from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are in line to receive the annual £10 Christmas bonus from the Government department.

Notably, the DWP Christmas bonus has remained at the same level since 1972 which means no rate increase has been applied to the supplementary benefit payment in more than five decades.

If the DWP Christmas Bonus’s rate had been uprated in line with inflation over the years, those eligible for the payment would be in receipt of a £119.47 festive windfall.

Should the DWP Christmas bonus be raised to £119?
