A preparatory school in Oxfordshire has written to parents to quash rumours that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children could be joining its roll of pupils.
The letter informed families that “despite the gossip” surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex potentially choosing the private school for their son and daughter, “no application” had landed on the headmaster’s desk as of September 1.
Staff in the admissions department were, however, described as remaining “ever vigilant,” according to Hello!.
The correspondence was prompted by widespread speculation about where the Sussex children will begin their British education this month, with the actual school being kept under wraps for security reasons.

It emerged a fortnight ago that the Sussexes were relocating to Britain for an extended period, having spent six years based in the United States.
At the same time, it was confirmed that the couple had already secured school places for both children.
Prince Archie, seven, will enter Year 3, while Princess Lilibet, five, is set to begin Year 1.
The identity of their school has not been disclosed, owing to security considerations.

At last year’s WellChild Awards, singer Joss Stone recounted her exchange with Harry at the ceremony, telling Hello!: “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children.
“It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back – for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends, and a strong sense of belonging and, most importantly, in a safe environment.”

Meghan, for her part, has historically voiced reservations about her children attending school in Britain.
In a 2022 interview with The Cut, she said that doing the school run with Archie would inevitably become a photo opportunity.
“Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,” the Duchess remarked at the time.
