Disney+ will increase subscription costs for everyone in the UK today.

This marks the third time the popular Netflix rival has hiked subscription fees in as many years. Most monthly plans increase by £1 a month, while the Standard tier increases by twice that. If you pay for Disney+ with a rolling monthly subscription, the new price will kick-in during your next billing date on or after November 18, 2026.

The cost of adding an Extra Member to your subscription has not changed. This allows a friend or family member to access a Disney+ profile from anywhere in the world, something that’s typically blocked to prevent people from sharing passwords between households to save money — a technique pioneered by Netflix.

If you pay for Disney+ annually, you won’t be charged the new price until the next billing cycle on or after December 2. New subscribers must pay the higher fees from today.

  • Disney+ Standard with Ads | £6.99 — was £5.99
  • Disney+ Standard | £11.99 — was £9.99
  • Disney+ Premium | £15.99 — was £14.99
  • Disney+ Standard – Annual Plan | £119.90 — was £99.90
  • Disney+ Premium – Annual Plan | £159.90 — was £149.90

Disney+ brings together blockbuster movies, award-winning series, exclusive original shows and live sport.

Don’t be fooled by the name – alongside the animated family friendly classis the studio is best known for, you’ll find franchises from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. Exclusive shows from Hulu, FX, and National Geographic, as well as live fixtures from ESPN, are all included in the library.

New additions to the catalogue include Pixar’s Toy Story 5 and Hoppers, Walt Disney Studios’ Zootropolis 2, 20th Century Studios’ The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Avatar: Fire and Ash, alongside acclaimed series including The Testaments, Paradise, and FX’s The Bear.

The House of Mouse has already announced that a new season of its critically-acclaimed shows Rivals and Only Murders in the Building will be on the way, as well as Ryan Murphy’s All’s Fair and Disney’s live-action Moana.

Want to swerve the price hike? Disney+ is offering new and returning subscribers the chance to pay the previous fee when you commit to a six-month subscription. Starting from October 14, you can secure the same cost — £5.99 for Disney+ Standard with Ads, £9.99 for Disney+ Standard, £11.99 for Disney+ Premium — for the next six months.

Disney+ is included with Sky TV and Virgin Media TV packages, bundled as a free gift with certain O2 and Vodafone mobile plans, and available to Lloyds Bank and Uber customers. You’ll need to check with your provider to see whether the overall cost will increase to reflect the new monthly fee from Disney.

For comparison, Netflix Standard with Ads costs £7.99 per month, while HBO Max Standard with Ads costs £5.99 per month. If you want to eliminate adverts from either of these rival subscriptions, you’ll need to spend an extra £6 a month for Netflix and £4 a month for HBO.
