A plaque commemorating Sarah Ferguson’s role in opening a “Homes from Home” facility near Great Ormond Street Hospital appears to have been taken down.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife unveiled the accommodation, operated by The Sick Children’s Trust, in 1990.

Its removal has left a visible outline and two drill holes in the brickwork where it once hung, according to pictures obtained by the Mail.

The plaque’s disappearance follows Ms Ferguson’s withdrawal from public life amid her connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is not responsible for removing plaques on The Sick Children’s Trust’s buildings, GB News understands. The People’s Channel has contacted representatives for Ms Ferguson and The Sick Children’s Trust for comment.

The Homes from Home programme operates independently from Great Ormond Street Hospital, primarily offering accommodation to families whose children are receiving intensive care or are in high dependency units.

According to the hospital, residents benefit from “the additional support of house staff who welcome families and provide them with much-needed support during their stay.”

The Sick Children’s Trust, which runs the scheme, was established in 1982 by Dr Jon Pritchard from Great Ormond Street Hospital and Professor James Malpas of St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.

The charity now operates nine such homes across the country, with locations in London, Cambridge, Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle.

Ms Ferguson was dropped as patron of several charities in September 2025 owing to her links to Epstein. She has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

The fallout deepened in February when Sarah’s Trust, the charity bearing her name, announced it would cease operations.

The closure came after the US Department of Justice released emails revealing extensive correspondence between Ms Ferguson and Epstein.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s ex-wife had already been distancing herself from the spotlight since King Charles removed his brother’s royal titles and honours, a period during which her charitable and public engagements have steadily unravelled.

Last month, Ms Ferguson pushed back against reports suggesting she was close to securing a seven-figure book deal aimed at rehabilitating her public image.

Her spokesman stated that there have been “no discussions” of any such agreement, adding: “She is not writing a personal memoir.”

Since the stripping of royal titles and honours from her former husband by the King, Ms Ferguson has kept a notably low profile. Her retreat from public life has coincided with the progressive dismantling of her longstanding charitable associations, leaving few visible traces of her once prominent philanthropic presence.
