The Princess of Wales made a striking appearance at Castle Hill Academy in New Addington, Croydon, this afternoon as part of Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 celebrations, with unusual footwear.

Catherine, 44, arrived at the school in autumnal tones, though she made an unusual departure from her customary wardrobe choices.

Rather than opting for her trademark elegant heels, the princess chose comfort over convention by stepping out in flat brown leather loafers.

The Princess of Wales donned Boden “Nya” penny loafers in the colour “Oxblood”, which are no longer in stock.

The footwear selection marked a clear shift towards a more relaxed aesthetic for the mother-of-three during her engagement.

The flat shoes proved an ideal choice for navigating the academy’s corridors whilst engaging with pupils and staff throughout the afternoon’s activities.

Her footwear selection demonstrated that even members of the Royal Family occasionally prioritise comfort, particularly when the occasion calls for a more grounded, approachable presence.

Her complete look centred on a pair of chocolate brown cigarette trousers, which she paired with a Petar Petrov jacket in chocolate.

The item can still be purchased for 1,390 euros, which equates to roughly £1,209.

Adding colour to the ensemble, Catherine wore a dusty blue shirt beneath the tailored jacket, with the sleeves casually rolled up.

The brown palette created a seasonally appropriate outfit that balanced professionalism with approachability.

The combination of the matching trousers and blazer with the contrasting blue shirt demonstrated the princess’s ability to craft a refined yet accessible look suitable for engaging with young people.

Prince William’s wife showcased a refined approach to royal dressing that felt both polished and accessible, striking an ideal balance for her engagement with children and educators.

She accessorised with Kiki McDonough blue topaz drop earrings, which cost a whopping £895.

Finally, Catherine wore her Auree Bali nine-carat gold garnet January birthstone necklace, which retails for £825.
