Princess Anne will undertake an official tour of South Korea and Thailand next month, travelling with her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, from July 13 to July 17.

The five-day visit carries particular significance as it will mark 75 years since the Battle of Imjin River, paying tribute to British servicemen who gave their lives during the Korean War.

Beyond the commemorative elements, the Princess Royal’s programme aims to reinforce bilateral ties between Britain and both nations, encompassing diplomatic engagements, charitable work and cultural exchanges.

This will be her first trip to South Korea since attending the 2018 Winter Olympics.

During her three-day stay in the Republic of Korea, the Princess Royal will participate in events that highlight the depth of the UK-Korea relationship.

Central to the programme is the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Imjin River, honouring British soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the conflict.

The visit will also spotlight cooperation between the two nations across multiple sectors, including maritime manufacturing, advanced technologies and research.

Educational partnerships and people-to-people connections form another key focus of the itinerary.

Moving to Thailand for the final two days of the tour, the Princess Royal will hold an audience with the Thai Prime Minister as well as Their Majesties the King and Queen.

She will also pay respects to Her Late Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, during the visit.

The itinerary includes a trip to a Bangkok school supported by Save the Children Thailand, reflecting her longstanding charitable commitments.
