Prince Harry has backed England to win the World Cup during an appearance on Joe Marler’s podcast in a wide-ranging interview released on Monday.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, sat down with the former England rugby international for the Joe Marler Will See You Now show, where the host adopts the persona of an “unqualified pseudo-psychologist” to quiz celebrity guests through probing questions and personality assessments.

The episode was recorded during Harry’s visit to the UK last week, with filming taking place at Kennington Podcast Studios in London.

The conversation saw the Duke field questions on everything from his television habits to his personal grooming practices, delivering several candid and humorous responses throughout the session.

Quizzed about his favourite “trashy” television programme, Harry confessed to being a Love Island viewer, though he was quick to clarify: “I don’t watch Love Island, I have watched Love Island.”

The Duke’s grooming routine proved equally entertaining, with Harry describing his daily regimen as “s***, shave, shower” before joking these activities would not occur simultaneously.

He revealed he trims his beard every five or six days to maintain tidiness, adding: “Nothing really happening on top, I get a haircut, otherwise I try not to look at what’s happening.”

Harry turned his attention to Marler’s oversized hands, comparing them to “individual Cumberland sausages.”

The conversation also touched on Harry’s hair colour, with the Duke insisting his locks are “auburn” rather than ginger, despite admitting he was nicknamed “carrot top” during his school days. Marler appeared stunned by the claim.

When asked about his occupation, Harry described himself as “Prince of England”, “Duke” and a “full-time dad.”

Additionally, the Duke backed England’s football team to win the World Cup, predicting: “I think it’s coming home, not going to be easy, never is.”

During the interview, Marler questioned whether Harry would describe himself as an “inventor” in relation to the Invictus Games, prompting the Duke to correct him by stating he was the “founder” of the competition.

Veteran JJ Chalmers, a close friend of Harry, joined the podcast session to discuss the games heading to British soil next summer.

The Invictus Games, which Harry established to support wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, will take place in Birmingham in 2027.
