Environmental health specialist Jeff Charlton has introduced Talking Mould, an online hub designed to consolidate guidance, research and discussion on mould in indoor environments.

The initiative responds to heightened awareness of mould in residential and commercial settings and the need for dependable, accessible information.

The platform presents material drawn from Charlton’s extensive career, offering structured resources for those involved in property management, inspection and remediation, as well as for members of the public.

Its Knowledge Centre contains a curated selection of his technical publications and guidance documents, covering the full process from detection through to long-term prevention. The content will be expanded as new findings emerge.

The website also incorporates JeffCharlton.ai, a specialist knowledge system developed from decades of investigative data and peer-reviewed research, allowing users to explore technical topics in greater depth.

In addition to written resources, Talking Mould has launched a public Facebook group to support discussion, encourage knowledge sharing and provide a forum for questions.

A forthcoming medical diagnostic tool will offer structured guidance for individuals seeking to understand possible health effects linked to mould exposure.

Jeff Charlton commented: “I want people to ask better questions, understand risk earlier, and make more informed decisions. Talking Mould is about empowering individuals and professionals with the knowledge they need to protect their health and property.”

The launch comes as mould continues to feature prominently in housing and public health discussions across the UK.

Charlton added: “Talking Mould is committed to providing credible, up-to-date information and fostering open discussion. Our goal is to help people navigate the challenges of mould with confidence and clarity.”

With additional tools and publications planned, the platform aims to serve as a long-term reference point for both public awareness and professional practice.

Charlton’s 40 years of international experience have informed standards and procedures for addressing complex contamination and environmental health risks in buildings.
