A mum-of-seven has been handed a 12-month supervision order after a “seven-year torture campaign” against her neighbour.
Sufina Aslam, 42, pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment and one count of breaching a restraining order after throwing waste and shouting abuse at her neighbour.
Aslam was caught on CCTV footage in her sustained abuse of her next-door neighbour in Yardley, Birmingham.
In several videos, she is seen throwing dirty nappies, sanitary towels and food packaging into the adjacent garden.
In another video, Aslam is seen smirking and peering over the fence as she hurls cooking pans full of oil into their garden.
The mother was also caught on camera repeatedly dumping bin bags of rubbish onto the land, which was already covered in her litter.
Aslam’s neighbours, the victims of her abuse, were forced to pay £4,000 in cleaning costs to remove the waste from their back garden.
One of the victims, a 50-year-old, told Birmingham Magistrates’ Court in a victim impact statement: “I can’t sleep and my health is deteriorating. My children’s education is affected.
“It’s a constant mental torture for all of us. I panic when I hear her voice.”
Prosecutor Fahad Gazge told the court: “Dirty nappies, sanitary towels and food were thrown over the garden fence.
“There was banging on the walls and shouting through the walls.”
Although Aslam admitted two counts of harassment and one count of breaching a restraining order, she avoided jail.
She was instead handed a 12-month intensive supervision order by the judge.
The mother was also ordered to pay £70 to her neighbours.
District Judge Michelle Smith said Aslam’s offending was “persistent”, with the victims experiencing trouble over a sustained period.
Ms Smith said the intense supervision court order rather than custody was “appropriate in this case”, but warned any more offending could see Aslam handed a prison sentence.
Another of Aslam’s neighbours, a 53-year-old man, said he was unsure why Aslam had targeted them.
He said: “This has been going on for six or seven years. We’re sick of it.
“It has happened in all hours of the day or night.
“She’s now stopped for about six months and doing nothing.”
