Madonna has left fans stunned after releasing a provocative 10-minute music video to promote her forthcoming album Confessions II.

The 67-year-old pop icon sparked particular discussion over one explicit sequence in which she pulls a young man into a nightclub toilet cubicle during a bathroom dance party.

In the scene, Madonna initially drops to her knees before the man hoists her up by grabbing her backside, allowing her to wrap herself around him.

A stunned onlooker then peers over the top of the stall in apparent disbelief at the encounter unfolding below.

The ambitious visual project has drawn widespread praise from fans.

One admirer declared: “In an era dominated by 2-minute songs and 15-second homemade cell phone videos, Madonna just gave us a 10-minute cinematic musical experience full of artistry and storytelling.”

Another supporter wrote: “In a time when visuals barely matter anymore, Madonna shows up with a whole film for six songs. This is what music video culture used to mean; she’s showing us once again why she’s the last TRUE POPSTAR!”

A third added: “This film is better than anything the music industry had to offer the last 20 years…”

The pop icon’s latest release features cameos from stars including Kate Moss and Benedict Cumberbatch

However, not everyone was won over by the raunchy scenes.

One critic wrote on X: “Welp, there it is, the grossest thing I’ll see all week.”

“Imagine if Bad Bunny did a video where he breaks into a women’s toilet and jumps on one of them in one of those cabins. He’d be collectively cancelled before the video is finished playing,” another added.

Someone else penned: “Somebody’s gotta be honest enough to tell this lady she’s gotta stop. She’s a 70-year-old woman who can’t sing anymore, walking around in her drawl for attention. She’s one of the all-time legends… But somebody’s gotta tell her she’s gotta stop.”

The star-studded video also features a host of celebrity cameos, including British supermodel Kate Moss, Oscar-nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch and actress Odessa A’zion.

Julia Garner also appears in the production ahead of her anticipated portrayal of Madonna in a forthcoming biographical film based on the singer’s life.

The short film showcases the opening six tracks from Confessions II, with Madonna navigating a nightclub bathroom setting filled with provocative scenes and risqué behaviour.

Confessions II is scheduled for release on July 3 and reunites Madonna with English DJ Stuart Price, who collaborated with her on the acclaimed 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Madonna has previously defended herself against criticism surrounding her appearance and performances, condemning what she described as “ageism and misogyny” and arguing that society lives in a “world that refuses to celebrate women past the age of 45.”

The video’s release comes just weeks after Madonna sparked concern among fans during a surprise Pride Month performance in New York’s Times Square.

The singer left onlookers stunned when she swung one leg over a protective barrier whilst performing on an elevated stage several storeys above the crowd.

The 67-year-old singer appears in several headline-grabbing scenes throughout the 10-minute visual project

Viewers watching the livestream shared their alarm on social media, with one writing: “That made me so nervous.”

Another admitted: “I was scared to death.”

A third added: “I WAS LIKE UMMM NOPE WE’RE NOT DOING THAT.”
