Gallacher and Brand first met in 2006 when she was 19, and he was 31. They dated briefly before separating in 2007, reunited in 2015, and married in a church ceremony near their Henley-on-Thames home in August 2017. The couple shares three children together.

Brand also faces additional allegations of rape, including the alleged rape of a 16-year-old schoolgirl, which were disclosed during earlier hearings at Southwark Crown Court and could lead to further criminal charges.

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy of the Metropolitan Police praised the “extraordinary courage, resilience and determination of the women who came forward,” stating that Brand “used his influence, status and fame to exploit and sexually offend against women.”

Senior Crown Prosecutor David Roberts described Brand as “predatory,” saying he “used his celebrity status to commit sexual crimes.” Roberts called him “a manipulator with an insatiable desire to get what he wanted regardless of whether consent was given or not.”

The prosecution had labelled Brand a “sexual predator” whose appetite for sexual contact was “indiscriminate and voracious.”
