Keir Starmer has condemned the “absolutely shocking” attack on a synagoge in Manchester.

The Prime Minister told reporters that the UK “will do everything to keep Jewish communities safe” and revealed that he will hold an “emergency Cobra meeting” in the wake of the attack.

Four people were injured in the incident, with police confirming that the suspect has been shot.

Greater Manchester Police has declared a major incident and said it had “declared Plato” the national code-word used by police and emergency services when responding to a “marauding terror attack”.
