Princess Kate paid a touching tribute to Princess Diana during the Remembrance Sunday memorial service in Whitehall, London.

The Princess of Wales was joined by Queen Camilla on the left balcony of the Foreign Office, as the duo observed their husbands laying wreaths at the Cenotaph.

Kate opted to wear the Collingwood Pearl Earrings, which were worn frequently by the late Princess Diana.

Diana began wearing the earrings before she became a princess, receiving them as a gift from Collingwood, a favourite company of the Spencer family.

The late princess donned them at a dinner in honour of King Khalid of Saudi Arabia in London in 1981.

She also wore them in November 1985 at an evening in the British Embassy in Washington, DC.

Kate first sported Diana’s earrings for a Spanish state banquet in 2017, and later wore them for King Charles’s Scottish Coronation ceremony.

She has worn the earrings on Remembrance Sunday in the past, including today, having donned them while standing next to Camilla.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS ON REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

Camilla took a senior position on the central Remembrance Sunday balcony today.

Her Majesty has a range of military connections and affiliations, including Colonel-in-Chief of The Royal Lancers.

Camilla’s wreath was laid by Major Ollie Plunkett, which closely resembled those produced for the late Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.

It consists of 95 closed-style poppy petals made from bonded fabric, mounted on a series of black leaves.

The brown, red and yellow ribbons were used to symbolise the Queen’s racing silk.

Camilla is the daughter of a member of the Armed Forces and has always felt a bond with military families.

The 78-year-old’s other military appointments include Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles, Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Naval Medical Services and the Naval Chaplaincy Service.

She is also the Lady Sponsor of HMS Astute and HMS Prince of Wales, and Honorary Air Commodore of
both RAF Leeming and RAF Halton.

The Remembrance ceremony was led by King Charles, with Prince William and Prince Edward taking part.

The trio laid wreaths at the memorial on Whitehall, honouring those who have lost their lives in conflict, in a ceremony which remains one of the most significant events in the royal calendar.

Sir Keir Starmer also laid a wreath at the Cenotaph during the Service of Remembrance, with Conservative leader and Leader of the Opposition Kemi Badenoch following suit.
