Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo has sent a public message of support for Princess Eugenie following her pregnancy announcement this morning.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the news in a social media post on the official Royal Family account.

The statement posted on social media said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer.

“August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.

“His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

At the same as the Buckingham Palace announcement, Princess Eugenie wrote on Instagram: “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!” alongside a picture of her children, August and Ernest, holding an ultrasound image of her pregnancy scan.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi commented three love hearts below the Instagram in a show of support for his sister-in-law.

The announcement comes just one day after Princess Eugenie shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute celebrating her husband Jack Brooksbank reaching his 40th birthday.

The 36-year-old royal had maintained a notably low profile in recent months, stepping back from the spotlight during a challenging time for her family.

While Eugenie has not made a permanent post on Instagram in 2026, the birthday tributes to Mr Brooksbank feature on her Instagram stories.

The collection of photographs offered an intimate window into the couple’s life together, featuring Jack relaxing on a sunlit beach beneath blue skies and a close-up selfie of the pair against a coastal setting.

Eugenie accompanied the images with a tender message reading: “Happy 40th my love..” followed by “Here’s to another 16 xx” – a reference to their sixteen years together.

Additional snapshots captured playful family moments, including Jack running along the beach with one of their young sons, August, five, or Ernest, two.

A throwback photograph of the couple from their earlier years together completed the nostalgic tribute.

Princess Eugenie

The princess had largely retreated from view following renewed attention on her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, in the wake of the Epstein files becoming public.

Most notably, Eugenie did not share a tribute marking what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday – a departure from her typical practice of honouring her late grandmother.

Recent weeks have seen Eugenie gradually stepping back into the spotlight through a series of public appearances.

She was photographed in London with her sister Princess Beatrice at Soho Mews House in Mayfair, followed by a dinner with Jack at Dorian, a Michelin-starred Notting Hill restaurant thought to be an early birthday celebration.
