Princess Eugenie has shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute celebrating her husband Jack Brooksbank reaching his 40th birthday.

The 36-year-old royal had maintained a notably low profile in recent months, stepping back from the spotlight during a challenging time for her family.

While Eugenie has not made a permanent post on Instagram in 2026, the birthday tributes to Mr Brooksbank feature on her Instagram stories.

Her decision to post the birthday celebration represents a significant shift, offering followers a glimpse into her private world after an extended period of silence.

The tribute comes as the princess appears ready to cautiously re-engage with public attention, having previously withdrawn amid difficulties facing the York family.

The collection of photographs offered an intimate window into the couple’s life together, featuring Jack relaxing on a sunlit beach beneath blue skies and a close-up selfie of the pair against a coastal setting.

Eugenie accompanied the images with a tender message reading: “Happy 40th my love..” followed by “Here’s to another 16 xx” – a reference to their sixteen years together.

Additional snapshots captured playful family moments, including Jack running along the beach with one of their young sons, August, five, or Ernest, two.

A throwback photograph of the couple from their earlier years together completed the nostalgic tribute.

The princess had largely retreated from view following renewed attention on her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, in the wake of the Epstein files becoming public.

Most notably, Eugenie did not share a tribute marking what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday – a departure from her typical practice of honouring her late grandmother.

Recent weeks have seen Eugenie gradually stepping back into the spotlight through a series of public appearances.

She was photographed in London with her sister Princess Beatrice at Soho Mews House in Mayfair, followed by a dinner with Jack at Dorian, a Michelin-starred Notting Hill restaurant thought to be an early birthday celebration.

The princess also attended a high-profile wedding in Sicily, where hotelier Charles Forte married designer Georgie Wright.

Though she avoided posting from the event herself, she appeared in the background of other guests’ social media photographs, looking relaxed among the assembled guests.
