Graham Linehan has said gender ideology had “swept through the entire police force”.
The controversial co-creator of Father Ted said the police were “wise not to drag this out at the moment”.
In his first TV interview since it was revealed he was paid £25,000 in compensation following his arrest at Heathrow Airport last year, Mr Linehan told GB News morale in policing is “low”.
A senior Met officer stated in correspondence whilst all personnel involved had acted with good intentions, the review uncovered deficiencies in multiple aspects of the case.
Speaking to GB News Political Editor Chris Hope, Mr Linehan said he was concerned about free speech in the UK after his arrest.
He said: “I think the the police were very wise not to want to drag this into drag this out in the courtroom because it would have exposed various forces at the moment in modern policing in the UK that they’re really in need of reform.
“The belief in gender ideology, which seems to have swept through the entire police force, the feeling that, people in the UK need to be controlled, their speech controlled rather than listened to and understood.
“It would have been a nightmare for the police, and I think that at the moment the police are in something of a crisis state.”

The 57-year-old was detained by armed officers at Heathrow on September 1 last year after a 10-hour flight from Arizona.
Among the posts prompting the complaint from a transgender campaigner, one said: “If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act.
“Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls.”
Another featured an image apparently showing a trans rights demonstration, which he captioned “a photo you can smell” followed by a comment expressing hatred for those he described as “misogynists and homophobes”.

Speaking about the post, Mr Linehan told GB News: “According to the recent Supreme Court decision, [the transgender woman] is breaking the law, and the police don’t seem to understand this.
“So when I give advice for women to make a fuss, cause a scene, you know, call for the police. If all else fails, keep punching him in the nether regions; then that is like the kind of safeguarding advice that any father would give their daughter.
“That the police found this a criminal offence means that they have; they’re so broken off from what the ordinary parent in my case feels about these issues that it really is a crisis.”

When asked about the hefty fee he would be paid in compensation from British taxpayers, Mr Linehan apologised, saying: “I’m sorry that it’s cost the UK taxpayer that much.
“But do bear in mind, this is for ten years of harassment by the police and these criminal men.”
Asked what he was going to do with his payout, he said: ‘I’m working in the US now, so I’m not as desperate as I was in the middle of my cancellation.
“It’s just a nice little stick. You know, I keep saying the word stipend. I don’t know why. It’s kind of lodged in my brain, but it’s a nice little payment.”
