Emergency services rushed to Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate this afternoon, with two fire engines arriving at approximately 12.25pm.

The first vehicle approached along the lane with sirens sounding and blue lights flashing, followed closely by a second response unit.

Firefighters entered the property briefly before departing within minutes.

A witness at the scene told the Mirror: “There were no police or security around. The fire engine just suddenly arrives.

“They all went in and came out perhaps five or six minutes later. No-one had idea of what was going on.”

A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service told GB News: “We were called to an address in Wolferton, which was to an automatic fire alarm activation, so this was a false alarm.

“Crews from Sandringham and King’s Lynn attended.”

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been residing at the Norfolk property since Thursday evening, when he was released from police custody.

The first vehicle approached along the lane with sirens sounding and blue lights flashing, followed closely by a second response unit.

The former prince was taken into custody earlier that day on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

The arrest followed allegations that he passed sensitive information to convicted paedophile and financier Jeffrey Epstein during his time as the UK’s trade envoy.

Wood Farm serves as his temporary accommodation while the investigation continues.

Police are no longer guarding the entrance to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s temporary home.

Firefighters entered the property briefly before departing within minutes.

Instead a sign has been put up outside Wood Farm warning journalists and photographers.

It reads: “This is a private property and no comment will be made to journalists.

“Photographers are also not permitted onto these private grounds of the Sandringham Estate.

“Please respect this decision. Failure to comply will be reported to IPSO.”
