Social media users have expressed mixed feelings following the latest Strictly Come Dancing announcement, with some viewers questioning how presenter Will Best will manage his commitments to the BBC show and Big Brother.

Mr Best was confirmed on Tuesday as the sixth celebrity joining the line-up for 2026, with the announcement made this afternoon across the BBC show’s official social media platforms.

One fan asked what the news means for his Big Brother hosting role, suggesting that eviction nights and Strictly rehearsals would inevitably conflict.

The 41-year-old ITV host expressed his disbelief at landing a spot on the beloved dancing competition, while fans of the show were divided in their response.

One X user penned harshly: “Well that’s a giant turn off right there. I absolutely hate him presenting Big Brother.”

Another complained: “Again never heard of him. Starting to see why Claudia and Tess f***ed of.”

“Geez I can hear the barrel scraping from here,”

Others expressed concerns about losing Mr Best on the ITV reality show, with one asking: “Whaaaatwhat does this mean for his hosting job on Big Brother?! Surely eviction nights and Strictly rehearsals would clash?” (sic)

“The Channel 5 and ITV Big Brother worlds collide… I can imagine Emma and Will gossiping backstage about what’s going on in the house,” another predicted.

Someone else wondered: “What’s the distance between Elstree Studios & the Big Brother house because he’s gonna be doing a lot of traveling.” (sic)

Others were delighted by the news, with one fan simply writing: “No complaints from me.”

Reacting to his signing, Mr Best stated: “I can’t quite believe it. I’m doing Strictly! What an absolute dream. Albeit a pretty terrifying one.”

He added: “I’ve been lucky to do lots of live telly before, but absolutely nothing like this.

“And I cannot wait! I have no idea if I can actually dance, but bring on the sequins, bring on the quicksteps, bring on the dance floor! I’m going to try to enjoy every minute of it.”

Mr Best’s television career stretches back to his early days as a presenter on T4, the Channel 4 youth programming strand.

He has since appeared across multiple networks, with credits including This Morning, BBC Three and music channel Viva.

His most recent television triumph came on Celebrity Mastermind, where he emerged victorious after choosing Danny Dyer as his specialist subject.

The series is scheduled to return to screens in September, with further celebrity contestants expected to be revealed throughout the summer months.

Mr Best will compete alongside five other celebrities already confirmed for the 2026 series: EastEnders actress Lacey Turner, television personality Dani Dyer, Australian singer Delta Goodrem, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton and Love Island winner Cach Mercer.

The announcement of Mr Mercer last week sparked controversy among viewers, with many pointing out his professional dance background.
