Big Business Entrepreneurs (BBE) is calling for stronger and more targeted support to help small business owners across the North East unlock new opportunities for growth.

The organisation highlights the region’s industrial heritage and significant untapped entrepreneurial energy, which it believes could be harnessed with the right level of support.

Although the North East benefits from vibrant cities and established strengths in manufacturing, it has just 211,605 businesses, making it 11th among the UK’s 12 regions in terms of business population.

Adam Stott, Founder of Big Business Entrepreneurs, said: “These figures underline the need for targeted support to help small firms grow, adopt digital monetisation strategies and build resilience.

“Business coaching, mentoring and strategic skills development could play a transformative role in enabling founders to scale, increase productivity and strengthen the regional economy, particularly in areas where business density remains low.”

BBE believes its coaching programmes can help founders overcome obstacles to growth, enhance their ability to monetise social media platforms and implement more effective, modern marketing strategies.

Adam Stott added: “Coaching accelerates learning, reduces the time wasted on trial and error, and helps entrepreneurs across the North East scale faster and more efficiently. This region has incredible people and potential – with structured support, thousands more could turn great ideas into thriving businesses.”
