Ms Dowden was promptly inundated with support from fellow Strictly alum, including Kevin Clifton, Kai Widdrington, Carlos Gu, Stacey Dooley, Dianne Buswell, and Aljaz Skorjanec.
But now, speaking to The People’s Channel in his role as columnist for WhichBingo, Mr Jordan has insisted that Ms Dowden and her fans got the wrong end of the stick when it came to Mr Cole’s comments. “He was really upset when all the press came out about it,” Mr Jordan told GB News.
“We’re on the bus together, and when, especially me, I see stuff (in the press), I laugh because he’s a good mate and I’ll send it to him and say, ‘Oh look, they’re bashing you again.’ And he’s like, ‘I don’t understand it.'”
Turning his attention to those who defended Ms Dowden, Mr Jordan went on: “People were saying, ‘Oh, after what Amy’s been through…’ We know what Amy’s been through, and it’s horrendous what she’s been through, and she does amazing things for Crohn’s and cancer and this and that.
