An overnight fire has gutted a fashion outlet in Manchester closing a major road into the city.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said it was called to reports of a fire at a commercial property on Bury New Road in Salford at about 01:40 BST.
The outlet was “well alight” when firefighters arrived and the blaze was tackled by eight fire crews and specialist units including a turntable ladder.
A GMFRS spokeswoman said: “Crews remain in attendance as they continue to work to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.
She added: “Bury New Road is currently closed by Greater Manchester Police and residents are asked to stay away from the area and keep doors and windows closed.”
