Prince William expressed heartfelt appreciation for his wife during a North Wales engagement today, declaring “behind every average man is an even better wife” whilst conversing with youth organisation founders.

The Prince of Wales made the remark during discussions with Scott Jenkinson, who established Youth Shedz, and his spouse, Sian, about the significance of having steadfast support from one’s partner.

The future King’s comments resonated with observers, with one social media user noting: “This is how the world knows you adore your spouse. Little gestures and actions.”

The touching tribute to Princess Kate came during William’s final stop on his North Wales tour.

William’s tour included a beach visit in Colwyn Bay, where he engaged with young environmental advocates from the Marine Conservation Society’s Youth Ocean Network.

The volunteers had participated in the two-year Hiraeth Yn Y Mor initiative, which concluded in March, focusing on promoting marine heritage and ocean wellbeing benefits across north Wales coastal communities.

Dozens of residents gathered along the promenade to greet the prince, who received an embrace from one enthusiast and assisted Tracy Earl, 61, with capturing a photograph after he noticed her device was recording video instead.

“You’ve been here for a while, I can tell – you’ve got the coldest hands,” William remarked to another person waiting in the winter weather.

The prince’s itinerary included a stop at Youth Shedz headquarters in the village of Mochdre, where the organisation creates secure environments for local young people.

William participated in a pool game with youngsters at the facility, which provides vital community spaces for youth engagement and development.

The royal visitor spent time learning about the organisation’s mission whilst interacting directly with the young participants who benefit from its services.

His engagement at Youth Shedz formed part of a broader day highlighting youth opportunities and activities throughout the north Wales region, demonstrating his commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit young people.

William concluded his North Wales tour at a comedy workshop hosted by comedian Kiri Pritchard-McLean, who co-established the Gwneud, Make, Do comedy school for both adults and children.

The prince observed as young participants tackled improvisation challenges, condensing classic pantomimes into rapid-fire performances lasting just 60 seconds.

One group attempted to compress Cinderella whilst another tackled Aladdin, resulting in unconventional and humorous interpretations that prompted laughter from the royal visitor.

Following the energetic performances, William commended Pritchard-McLean’s work, stating: “You’ve laid a good groundwork for any wanting to go on in the future.”

The comedy workshop marked the final engagement of his day, promoting youth activities across the region.
