A GB News audience member launched a scathing attack on London’s mayor, referring to him as “nasty” whilst questioning whether Donald Trump would ever mend fences with Sir Sadiq Khan.

The viewer posed their question to the programme’s panel, asking: “I just wondered if any of the panel actually believe that Donald Trump will reconcile his differences with that nasty man whose name is Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London.”

The animosity between Mr Trump and Sir Sadiq reached new heights during the President’s recent state visit to Britain, when Mr Trump revealed he had personally barred the mayor from attending the royal banquet at Windsor Castle.

Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, Mr Trump disclosed: “I asked that he not be there. He wanted to be there, as I understand, I didn’t want him.”

The president branded Mr Khan as “among the worst mayors in the world”, adding that the mayor had been “a disaster” on immigration issues.

Agreeing with the audience member, GB News guest Adam Brookes said: “My opinion of Sadiq Khan is that Mr Trump didn’t go far enough.

“Personally, I think he’s the most arrogant and despicable politician this country has had in many years. I believe he is destroying London.

“Crime has spiralled since 2016 under his watch. There’s now a rape reported every hour in the capital.

“Foreign governments are even warning their citizens not to wear jewellery if they visit London. That’s how far the city has fallen. It is unrecognisable compared with 2016, when he first took office.

“Sadiq Khan labels anyone who opposes him as ‘far right’. He’ll say I’m far right.”

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

The hostile dynamic between Mr Trump and Mr Khan stretches back a decade, beginning in 2015 when the Labour politician denounced Mr Trump’s proposal to prohibit Muslims from entering America.

Their mutual antagonism escalated the following year when Mr Trump challenged Khan to an intelligence test.

The feud intensified after the 2017 London Bridge terrorist incident, with Mr Trump criticising how the mayor managed the crisis.

When Mr Trump made his initial state visit in 2019, Khan authorised a provocative gesture by allowing protesters to float a massive inflatable caricature dubbed the “Trump baby” during the President’s stay.

The mayor had previously accused Mr Trump of promoting far-right ideology, whilst Mr Trump responded by branding Sir Sadiq “a stone-cold loser” in a public exchange that year.

The President’s disdain for Khan resurfaced during a July press conference in Scotland, where he described the mayor as “a nasty person” before Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer intervened, stating: “He’s a friend of mine, actually.”
