Since his release, the former al-Muhajiroun member has been reaching thousands of followers through TikTok, where he also sold extremist books written under the pen name Abu Baraa.

In a video last month titled “The Truth About Terrorism Convictions,” aimed at younger viewers, he claimed that between 99 and nearly 100 per cent of those found guilty of terror offences had cases “nothing to do with violence,” dismissing most as people jailed for “reading a magazine” or holding placards.

He branded Muslim police officers “greedy sinners” whose pursuit of money risked making them “kafir,” and described Britain, America and Israel as an “axis of evil.”

His books, removed from Waterstones and TikTok’s shop following media scrutiny but still listed on Amazon, include What Is Known From Islam By Necessity, which instructs readers to train for jihad and labels Jews “disbelievers.”

A second title, The Muslim Teachers Handbook, targets children as young as four and urges “jihad of the sword.”
