A British snack retailer has entered administration just weeks after breaking advertising rules for the second time this year.

The company, promoted by food influencers and followed by more than 35,000 people on Instagram, now faces an uncertain future.

SnackVerse Limited, which delivers monthly subscription boxes of snacks from around the world, appointed administrators on Monday, November 2.

A public notice confirming the appointment appeared in the official record on Thursday.

The move came less than a month after the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) found the company had breached promotional marketing rules.

It was the second ruling against the business in 2026, following an earlier complaint about its country-themed snack boxes.

In May, the ASA found that SnackVerse had made “misleading claims” after a customer complained that the snacks they received did not match the countries advertised on its website.

The company argued that the webpage “functioned as a historical showcase of themed boxes from past months” and “did not state or guarantee that every subscriber would receive every listed country”.

However, the ASA rejected that explanation and upheld the complaint.

It told SnackVerse to ensure its advertising did not suggest subscribers had received a particular country-themed box in a given month.

The second breach followed in October, when the ASA determined that a 50 per cent discount offer on the company’s website was accompanied by a countdown clock that simply reset once the timer expired.

The authority contacted SnackVerse about the issue but received no assurance that the firm would update its site to comply with advertising standards.

On October 9, the ASA published a “Misleading Promotional Marketing” notice, stating it would remain on its website until the company “removed or amended the claims”.

As of this week, the countdown clock was still visible on the SnackVerse website, despite administrators having been appointed.

Kieran Bourne of Cromwell & Co Insolvency Practitioners has been appointed as administrator. The company’s future remains unclear.

SnackVerse offered three tiers of subscription box. The smallest, containing five or more snacks, cost £7.99.

A standard option with ten or more snacks and a drink was priced at £13.99, while the premium box featuring 20 or more snacks plus a drink came in at £23.99.

Each month’s selection was themed around a different country, with the latest November box appearing to feature treats from the Netherlands.
