Savers can lock in a fixed interest rate for 19 months with two new accounts from Skipton Building Society.

Both are open to new and existing customers, with deposits starting from just £1.

The 19 Month Fixed Rate Cash ISA and 19 Month Fixed Rate Bond each pay 4.81 per cent AER.

The rate is fixed throughout the term, giving savers certainty about the interest their money will earn as market conditions change.

Both accounts accept balances of up to £1million, although new contributions to the Cash ISA are limited to £20,000 for the current tax year.

Customers can choose annual interest at 4.81 per cent or monthly interest at a rate of 4.71 per cent.

The Cash ISA also accepts transfers from other ISAs, with a final paying-in date of 11 November 2026.

Savers who close the ISA early will face a penalty equivalent to 90 days’ interest. This means they could receive back less than they deposited.

The Bond does not allow partial withdrawals or early closure, so customers must be prepared to leave their money untouched for the full 19 months.

Both products can be opened online, through the Skipton app, in branch, by post or by telephone.

Alex Sitaras, Head of Savings and Partnership Products at Skipton Building Society, said: “Many savers are looking for certainty as rates continue to shift, and our new 19 Month Fixed Rate Cash ISA and Bond give customers the opportunity to lock in a competitive return for longer.”

Mr Sitaras added: “Whether you’re making the most of this year’s ISA allowance, building a savings buffer or working towards a future goal, fixing your rate can provide the confidence of knowing exactly what your savings will earn over the term.”

He also urged savers to take action, saying: “Too often, people leave money sitting in accounts that are no longer delivering good value.

Taking the time to review your savings and switch to a more competitive rate can make a meaningful difference to long-term returns.”

Mr Sitaras emphasised the building society’s broader mission, stating: “At Skipton, we believe people should have a fairer opportunity to make the most of their money.

“As a mutual, we’re committed to rewarding savers fairly through competitive products and supporting members with guidance such as My Money Reviews, Pension Health Checks and regulated financial advice, helping them build greater financial confidence and long-term resilience.”

As a mutual organisation, Skipton operates without external shareholders, which allows it to focus on delivering value directly to its members. The launch of these two products reflects that commitment to offering competitive savings options.
