Romeo Beckham has followed in his parents’ footsteps by sharing a post in honour of his brother Brooklyn’s 27th birthday, despite being currently estranged from him.

The 23-year-old has shared a throwback snap of his older brother, who is still embroiled in a feud with his family.

After months of speculation about a rift having formed, Brooklyn himself confirmed this in January when he issued a lengthy statement about why he had withdrawn from the family.

He claimed that parents David and Victoria hadn’t been respectful of his marriage to Nicola Peltz or of his own privacy, and made clear he doesn’t want to make amends with his family.

It emerged that the family had unfollowed and “blocked” Brooklyn on social media, with the third Beckham child, Cruz, claiming it had been Brooklyn to begin the social media snub.

However, this hasn’t stopped Mr and Mrs Beckham from posting snaps to the general public to mark their eldest child’s birthday.

On Wednesday, both shared childhood photos of the aspiring chef to their Instagram Stories, along with birthday wishes and messages of love, despite the fact that Brooklyn isn’t likely to be able to view the posts.

Now, Romeo has followed suit by sharing a throwback snap of himself and Brooklyn, although he didn’t write a message to accompany the photo.

The picture shows the two brothers as young children, each posing with a ball and sporting football shirts.

Sir David’s posts were photos of Brooklyn as a child grinning next to his father, next to which the father-of-four had written: “27 today. Happy birthday Bust. We love you.”

A second, similar post also read: “Happy birthday Bust, love you.”

Victoria also shared an online tribute to mark her son’s birthday, using a different image of the oldest Beckham child with her and David.

She penned: “Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn. I love you so much.”

The social media moves are in defiance of one of Brooklyn’s major complaints against his family, with reports stating that he had told friends how social media posts from his parents had been causing him significant distress.

Sources claim Brooklyn’s repeated requests for his parents to stop such posts had previously gone unheeded, prompting the formal legal approach.

Earlier in the year, the family found themselves making headlines after Brooklyn posted a lengthy statement on social media, finally addressing a year’s worth of speculation about his estrangement from the famous family.

“Even my brothers were sent to attack me on social media, before they ultimately blocked me out of nowhere this last summer,” he wrote.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he also said.

He claimed that throughout his upbringing, his parents fed stories to journalists, leaving him with “no choice” but to speak out publicly to counter what he described as printed “lies”.

The budding chef also claimed his parents cared only about “brand Beckham” and their reputation.

“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he added.
