A senior US Democrat has urged Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to speak before Congress regarding his long-standing association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, suggested the disgraced former royal should view such an appearance as an act of redemption.

“I would imagine that anyone as deeply involved as Prince Andrew clearly was would have a story to tell,” Rep. Raskin said.

“I would think he would see that as some form of service, after being so disgraced by his involvement.”

The congressman’s remarks come amid renewed scrutiny of those connected to America’s most infamous paedophile, with pressure mounting on multiple figures to cooperate with ongoing investigations.

The call for Andrew’s testimony coincides with his second public sighting since being taken into custody last month on charges of misconduct in a public office.

The former Duke of York was photographed behind the wheel of a vehicle on the Sandringham estate, making the short journey from Wood Farm to Marsh Farm.

Wood Farm has served as his temporary residence on the King’s Norfolk estate, while Marsh Farm is currently undergoing renovation work ahead of becoming his permanent home.

A security guard reportedly accompanied him during the drive, holding one of his pet dogs.

Andrew has remained largely out of sight since images emerged of him slumped in the back of a car departing Aylsham Police Station in Norfolk, where he was detained on his 66th birthday.

Rep. Raskin expressed doubt about the current administration’s willingness to pursue the matter, accusing federal agencies of obstructing the investigation.

“Right now, the FBI under Kash Patel and the Department of Justice under Pam Bondi are engaged in a full-blown cover-up,” he stated from his Washington office.

The congressman claimed lawmakers had been sent on a “wild goose chase” with an incomplete document release, noting that only half of the required files had been provided.

“Only three million of six million documents released. Then hundreds of thousands of pages are marred by redactions and excisions,” he said.

Members of Congress can only access unredacted versions of the files on four computers located at the Department of Justice.

“It’s not set up for success,” Rep. Raskin added.

The pressure extends beyond Andrew himself, with Democratic Congressman Suhas Subramanyam calling last week for his former wife Sarah Ferguson to provide sworn testimony to the House Oversight Committee investigating how Epstein’s prosecution was handled.

“If Ferguson or any member of their family has such information, our responsibility is to follow the facts wherever they lead,” Democratic Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury said.

Republican Thomas Massie has also voiced support for Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley’s request that American authorities share unredacted correspondence between Peter Mandelson and Epstein.

“They absolutely should share that,” Mr Massie told BBC Newsnight.

The congressman insisted he would not be “satisfied until the survivors are satisfied,” adding: “Men need to be perp-walked in handcuffs to jail.”
