Watch the disgusting moment left-wing activists dumped manure under The Ritz’s iconic Christmas tree in a shocking stunt that left staff horrified.

The brazen trio entered the five-star hotel, brandishing signs outside which said “inequality is s**t” and “tax the rich” after carrying out the repugnant act.

The Metropolitan Police has since confirmed that it had received reporters of criminal damage, although no arrests have been made as of yet.

The video has captured activists dumping heaps of manure under the decorated tree in the heart of Mayfair.

The campaign, Take Back Power, confirmed that three activists emptied sacks of horse excrement by the Christmas tree in the lobby earlier on Wednesday.

The trio were speedily dragged out of the world-renowned hotel by disgusted staff.

The public were also left gobsmacked by the ordeal, which took place at around 12.05pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Video footage captured the moment three individuals carried three suitcases into the lobby, unpacking three clear bags of manure which they then up-ended onto the floor.

The hotel staff’s bemusement at the strange activity was quick to transform into revulsion

The campaign group, which took credit for the revolting stunt, is newly formed, and has branded itself with the slogan “Tax the rich to fix Britain”.

The group named two of the activists involved, identifying NHS worker Ellen Redwood-Brown, 23, and ex-doctor, journalist and community worker Tom Barber, 65.

Take Back Power calls itself a non-violent civil resistance group, which is lobbying the Government to launch a “citizens’ assembly” to tax extreme wealth.

The smelly stunt has come a day after two campaigners belonging to the group handed a letter to Sir Keir Starmer, pushing the Labour PM to take action to remedy wealth inequality across the nation.

David Currey, 23, and Ella Wilson, 24, delivered the document to the Prime Minister.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “At around 12:14 on Wednesday Dec 3, officers responded to reports of criminal damage at a hotel in Piccadilly, Mayfair.

“On arrival, officers found horse manure had been placed in the lobby, which is believed to have been part of a protest.

“No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation is ongoing.”

A Take Back Power spokesman said: “It’s time ordinary people, those most affected by inequality, get a say in deciding how to tax wealth through the means of a legally binding citizen’s assembly – a House of the People.”

One of its founders David Currey, from Gateshead, said: “Today we are launching Take Back Power because Britain is broken.

“We have millions of children in food poverty, our NHS is on its knees, and the far-right is on the rise. The answer to these crises is simple, we need to tax the rich.

“Due to the vested interests of our so-called representatives, this won’t be won by asking politely. So, we’re starting a campaign of civil disobedience which will end when our demand is met.”

The left-wing pressure group has become known for projecting messages onto the Houses of Parliament.

So far, they have projected slogans from “inequality is growing” to “the rich are killing us” and “democracy is captured”.
