Queen Camilla showcased effortless class as she stepped out wearing a teal blue gown with the traditional sash and brooch, with the real showstopper being the £8.5million tiara that adorned Her Majesty’s head.

She was attending the State Banquet alongside King Charles, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The monarchs were hosting Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender at Windsor Castle for the first visit by a German president in 27 years.

The Queen was seen wearing a floor-length teal blue gown with a floral design by Fiona Clare. She paired it with the traditional red sash and ribbon brooch, denoting the Royal Family Order of King Charles III.

She finished off her look with the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara on her head, designed by royal jeweller Garrard and with an estimated worth of £8.5m.

The tiara belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who wore it on many grand occasions.

It was originally a gift to Princess Mary of Teck, the daughter of one of Queen Victoria’s cousins, on her wedding day to King George V in 1893.

The headpiece was made of diamonds set in silver and gold and topped with 14 pearls. In 1914, the then-Queen Consort asked Garrard to remove the pearls from the top of the tiara and replace them with 13 diamonds.

The tiara holds significant importance in the royal family, as it was passed down to Queen Elizabeth as a wedding present upon her marriage to Prince Philip in 1947 by a committee representing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland.

She wore it for the first official royal portrait as monarch in 1952, and it was also worn in the images printed on UK banknotes and coins during her reign.

Camilla also wore the Queen Mother’s Cartier Bracelet Bandeau, a collection of bracelets set with baguette rubies, emeralds, and sapphires, which were gifted by her husband, the future King George VI, for birthdays and Christmases between 1923 and 1925.

She finished off her jewellery with an emerald and diamond necklace around her neck that had been previously worn by Queen Elizabeth, including during her final appearance in a tiara in 2019.

Princess Kate also stunned fans as she stepped out in her largest tiara to date.

Kate opted for Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara, made of diamonds and rubies, which was designed by the German-born Prince Albert.

Her purple-blue, floor-length sequinned gown with flowing cape shoulder detail was by Jenny Packham.

She also wore the late Queen’s earrings, the Royal Family Order and the GCVO Sash and Star.

The Princess of Wales wowed fans with the biggest tiara she has wore to date

The royal headpiece was the fifth time Kate has stepped out with a tiara, but this was the biggest to date.

According to Garrard, the tiara was crafted in 1853 for Queen Victoria under the direction of her husband, Prince Albert.

The choice may have been a nod to Prince Albert, who was from Germany.
