The Princess of Wales avoided being “too overpowering” with her Jenny Packham decision, a fashion commentator has claimed.
Catherine and Prince William joined forces with Tom Cruise on Tuesday at the Leicester Square Odeon for the global film premiere of Digger.
The future Queen, 44, wore a pleated silk chiffon Jenny Packham gown in the shade “grape”, paired with an amethyst necklace owned by the late Queen Mother and Collingwood diamond and pearl earrings which belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales.
Speaking on behalf of Smooth Spins Casino, Smooth Radio’s gaming brand, fashion expert Lauren Bulla spoke exclusively to GB News about the Princess of Wales’s fashion choices.
She said: “Catherine is serving a level of elegance at the premiere.
“When we look at the colour choice of this dress, it’s a deep purple, which is a colour we reserve for royalty and those of high status.
“If you look into the origin of the tone of the colour, the pigment has always been an expensive colour.
“The dress choice emulates established elegance and certainty of her position as a royal during social occasions in the entertainment calendar.

“The V-neckline and the sheer sleeves balance the modest framing and the length of the dress.”
Ms Bulla opened up about the rest of the outfit and how Catherine ensured the purple colour would not be “too overpowering”.
She said: “A full-length gown can sometimes be too overpowering, but in this case, these elements bring the perfect balance that’s needed.
