Princess Kate’s comments about how she dealt with the aftermath of cancer treatment were a massive “comfort” to American actress Olivia Munn.

Ms Munn, 45, known for her roles in The Predator and New Girl, said the royal’s words helped her during her own battle with the disease.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and struggled to “put [it] into words” until she heard the Princess of Wales, 43, discuss her way of handling the situation.

Ms Munn told NBC’s Today Show it was “so great” to hear “someone in [Kate’s] position” speaking about cancer.

Speaking to host Jenna Bush Hager, she said: “The first part is hard, but a lot of people don’t talk about how hard the second part is.

“I actually didn’t know how to articulate it, and then I heard her say recently that, ‘Oh, it’s hard, but this other part is really tough. The part after the surgeries and stuff like that’.

“It really made me feel so comforted that someone in her position was talking about it, because I needed to hear that. I needed someone to articulate that.”

Kate said she was beginning her chemotherapy in March 2024 and revealed she was in remission in January this year.

The princess discussed her “really difficult” treatement at Colchester Hospital in Essex, as well as the challenges she continues to overcome after her treatment.

Ms Munn said: “It was so great to hear her say it because I wasn’t able to put the words in myself, and I’ve been talking so much about breast cancer.”

The future Queen discussed dealing with cancer at the Wellbeing Garden of the hospital earlier this year.

She said: “You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal’, but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.”

She continued: “You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.

“And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.

“You have to find your new normal and that takes time… and it’s a roller coaster, it’s not one smooth plain, which you expect it to be. But the reality is, it’s not; you go through hard times.

“And to have a place like this to have the support network, through creativity and singing or gardening, whatever it might be, is so valuable, and it’s great this community has it; it would be great if lots of communities had this kind of support.”

Kate showed up in style at the Royal Albert Hall in a green velvet dress

Kate stunned fans at the Royal Variety Performance on Wednesday as she stepped out in a green velvet dress alongside her husband Prince William.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were attending the event for the sixth time, and the future queen sent royal fans into chaos. She was seen wearing the Talbot Runhof Bobonne green velvet gown alongside William in a class tuexdo.

The sold-out dress was paired with dark green Manolo Blahnik heels, a Jenny Packham “Casa” clutch bag and Giulia Barela earrings. Fans took to social media to showcase their love for the look, with one fan saying: “She looks gorgeous, but gosh, she must be chilly!”

Another fan said: “She’s absolutely spectacular!”
