Princess Anne’s son has made a major blunder while announcing the date of his wedding.

Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling originally stated that their wedding would take place on Saturday, July 6th 2026.


However, July 6th falls on a Monday this year.

The couple’s blunder led to confusion surrounding would date the wedding would actually take place on.

Princess Anne’s son has made a major blunder while announcing the date of his wedding.

A correction has now been issued confirming the wedding will be held on Saturday, June 6th 2026.

The couple will exchange vows at All Saints Church in Kemble, Cirencester.

Peter Phillips is the son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, while Sperling’s parents are the late Rupert Sanders and Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire.

The summer ceremony will be a private affair.

Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling have revealed they will wed in July 2026.

Both families learned of the wedding date through joint invitations sent by the couple.

Senior members of the Royal Family, including the King and Queen alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, have been made aware of the announcement.

The corrected press statement said: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today announced their wedding date.

Peter Phillips is the son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, while Sperling’s parents are the late Rupert Sanders and Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire.

“The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester on Saturday 6th June 2026 in a private ceremony.

“Both families have been informed jointly of the wedding date by invitation.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have also been informed of the announcement.

“Further details will be announced in due course.”
