Five winning teams, one for each Earthshot category, will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 17, with each winner receiving a $2,000 (£1,491) grant to advance their project.
India has produced more Earthshot Prize winners and finalists than any other country.
Organisers emphasise that the local innovations stem directly from student-led community action addressing five core pillars: protecting nature, reviving oceans, cleaning air, building a waste-free world, and fixing the climate.
“The extraordinary ingenuity shown by these young finalists demonstrates that the next generation is not waiting for the future to act; it is already building environmental solutions right now,” Jason Knauf, CEO of The Earthshot Prize, said.
