Prince Harry has denied taking a “swipe” at Prince William following his sit-down interview today.

The Duke of Sussex told GQ Magazine: “I want it to work out,” but suggested that not everyone shared this aspiration, stating that “some people don’t want it to work out.”

This was originally believed to be directed at the Royal Family, who have famously had strained relations with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over the past six years.

However, Harry’s spokesman told GB News: “It was absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of his family.

“The comment was made in a general context and was not directed at his family in any way.”

Prince Harry’s interview was filmed in late September, with GQ magazine solely responsible for choosing its release date, GB News understands.

Sources close to the Sussexes stressed that no significance should be attached to the timing of its publication.

It comes as King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed the Sultan of Oman to Windsor for a State Visit today.

Prince William and the Princess of Wales took part in the festivities, with Catherine donning a green Sarah Burton dress in honour of the Omani flag.

In the wide-ranging conversation, the Duke of Sussex expressed his desire for familial healing.

“I want it to work out,” Harry said, while suggesting that not everyone shared this aspiration, stating that “some people don’t want it to work out.”

He described reconciliation as “the most important thing” amid everything happening globally.

The Duke elaborated on his perspective during the sit-down, remarking: “There’s enough drama in the world.. to continue with issues with family.”

Harry went further in addressing how a potential resolution might resonate beyond his own circumstances.

“People maybe look at us and go, ‘How are you going to work it out?’ And then, maybe, how I see you’re going to work it out, maybe that will help me work my stuff out,” he reflected.

He underlined that amid global turmoil, mending fractured family bonds should take priority.

“With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point,” the Duke stated.

LATEST ROYAL DEVELOPMENTS:

Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex relocated to England in August of this year, having established a new base in the country six years after departing the working monarchy for life across the Atlantic.

The Duke’s relationship with his elder brother, Prince William, has been under considerable strain since the couple chose to relinquish their senior royal duties in 2020 and move to California.

The two brothers are understood to have gone several years without speaking to one another.

Their last known public appearance together was at King Charles’s Coronation in May 2023, more than three years ago.
