Police have defended their decision to release the RAF Fairford suspects on bail as the force provides an update on the case.

This morning, Mohmed Ahmad Abdulkarim, 24, and Nouman Essghir, 24, were charged after an investigation into the suspected terror plot, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

The two men will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.
