Drivers are facing long delays this morning on one of the busiest motorways in the UK after a collision resulted in an overturned van.

National Highways has confirmed that three of four lanes remain closed on the M5 northbound between Junction 6 (Worcester) and Junction 5 (Wychbold).

A collision has resulted in an overturned van, which is blocking traffic for vehicles in the second and third lanes.

Recovery vehicles are en route to the scene to assist with the damaged vehicle on the M5.

There are approximately seven miles of congestion on the approach to the scene, with delays in excess of 90 minutes.

The incident was marked as pending at 7.38am by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.

Three crews were called to the scene, including one from Droitwich, Bromsgrove and Redditch Fire Stations.
