The annual Order of the Garter took place at Windsor Castle this afternoon, in the traditional procession to St George’s Chapel.

The King and Queen, Prince and Princess of Wales, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke of Kent were just some of the distinguished Royal Family members that attended the traditional ceremony.

Today saw Lord Hennessy of Nympsfield, Lord O’Donnell, and Lord Burnett of Maldon receive their honours, with their appointments having been announced on St George’s Day this year.

Founded by King Edward III some seven centuries ago, the Order of the Garter remains Britain’s oldest and most prestigious order of chivalry.

So, to mark the ceremony steeped in such British history and tradition, GB News has accumulated the best pictures from the day below.
