After contacting her health trust for her regular repeat prescription, she said she was told there were no supplies of Nabilone available.

She was told to contact her neurologist and has since been prescribed other medication.

Kenning said the alternatives had not been effective and that her health had declined to the point where she had to stay in hospital for several nights.

“I don’t want to be here any more because the pain is so bad,” she said.

“I don’t know how to describe it.

“I have been living on painkillers… I can’t sleep, I’m sick, I’m not eating.”

Kenning said more should have been done to prepare patients for the disruption.

“How do I live my life? How do I cope with the pain?” she said.

“I’m not only fighting for me, I’m fighting for all the other patients that are on this drug.”
