A man has been charged with manslaughter after another man was attacked in the street.
The 52-year-old was found unconscious on South Parade in Rochdale at 01:30 BST on Saturday and died later in hospital, Greater Manchester Police said.
Dougie Waring, 37, of Rochdale, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with manslaughter. He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 3 November.
Another man who was arrested as part of the investigation has been bailed pending further inquiries.
