Some of the biggest automakers in the world are recalling more than one million vehicles over fears that in-car issues could cause serious accidents.
Manufacturing giants, including Toyota, Honda and Hyundai, have all issued recall notices in the United States for various reasons over the last few weeks.
GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls of the past week that motorists need to know about.

Hyundai
In new documents registered with the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Hyundai has issued two huge recalls.
The first recall outlines that 568,580 Palisade vehicles between model years 2020 and 2025 could have seat belt buckles that fail to latch.
The warning states that the seat belt may fail to properly restrain occupants in the event of a crash, thus increasing the risk of injury for the driver and any occupants of the vehicle.

While a remedy has not yet been performed, passengers are encouraged to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a “quick and direct motion”.
The second recall impacts more than 31,000 electric IONIQ 6 models (2023-2025), which could result in the charging port door panel detaching.
It states that the charging port door outer panel may have “insufficient engagement between the outer panel retaining hooks and the charging port door”.
Hyundai said the recall was necessary as the panel could create a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the likelihood of an accident.

Almost 600,000 vehicles are included in Toyota’s latest recall notice amid fears that the instrument panel display does not show critical information.
The issue could increase the risk of an injury, with a remedy in place for dealers to update the instrumental panel software for owners of non-plug-in hybrids. Those owning a PHEV will either have the panel replaced or upgraded.
The recall impacts certain 2023-2024 Toyota Venza, 2023-2025 RAV4 Prime, RAV4, Highlander, GR Corolla, Crown, 2024-2025 Lexus TX, LS, Toyota Tacoma, Grand Highlander, and 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 Plug-in Hybrid, and 4 Runner vehicles.

Drivers are being warned that a loss of power steering could require them to steer more thoroughly, which can lead to an accident.
The document states: “The software for the electric power steering (EPS) assist may not be calibrated properly, which can cause the EPS system to enter a failsafe mode, resulting in a loss of power steering assist.
Owners of certain 2025 Honda Acura RDX vehicles are being recalled, with a total of 17,334 units potentially impacted.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Chrysler
Almost 164,000 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer vehicles are being recalled by Chrysler under the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles umbrella.
It warns that the trim on the driver and passenger doors can detach and cause a road hazard for other vehicles.
Owners are expected to be notified via letters being mailed out at the end of October. Dealers will inspect and replace the door trim if necessary.

The Jeff Bezos-backed electric vehicle manufacturer has issued a recall impacting 24,214 of its 2025 R1S and R1T vehicles.
The hands-free highway assist (HWA) software may fail to correctly identify other vehicles, which can lead to an accident.
The 573 recall document outlines that the vehicles impacted by the notice operate a software version prior to 2025.18.30.
