The King’s Trust has begun their celebrations as they enter their 50th year of operation, by releasing a video proclaiming: “We are just getting started.”
The charity was formed in 1976, when the then-Prince Charles completed his Royal Navy duty and dedicated his time to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK.
Since its inception, the charity has helped over 1.3million young people in the UK, by providing them with essential skills to help them gain employment.
In the new video, the charity said: “50 years, that’s half a century of determination, 50 years of struggle, passion and the will to change.

“From one vision, to global support, from first steps to newfound confidence.
“Each journey is unique, but it all starts with the spark of an idea, the vision to succeed, the will to change.
“The thing is, we are just getting started! We are needed now more than ever before. Young people are still facing challenges, we will be there supporting them, into work, education, and training.“
In celebration of the 50th anniversary, The Royal Mint has partnered with The King’s Trust to create a commemorative coin to mark the milestone.
The charity will be running a series of events throughout 2026 as they aim to get people involved with the celebration.
A King’s Trust Celebration will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on May 11, which promises to be a “star-studded” event.
Queen Elizabeth II will also be featured on a new coin design from The Royal Mint this year.

Marking 100 years since the birth of the late monarch, a new £5 coin will be revealed by the organisation.
It is part of a series of milestone anniversaries being celebrated in five new UK coin designs for 2026.
There will also be a 50p coin to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Grand Prix of Britain.
A pair of new £2 coins will mark 200 years of the Zoological Society of London and the 200th anniversary of HMS Beagle.
In a first for The Royal Mint, 52 gold commemorative versions of the 2026 collection have been produced using recycled gold.
Through a partnership with Sempsa, the gold found in the annual sets has been recycled from old jewellery and coins.
The Royal Mint said it aims to produce all gold commemorative coins from recycled gold by the end of the year.
Rebecca Morgan, director of commemorative coins at The Royal Mint, said: “This is an exciting moment for the nation to discover some of the anniversaries that will be celebrated on UK coins in 2026.
