Princess Kate hosts her annual Together At Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey this evening, marking the fifth consecutive year of the festive celebration.

The Princess of Wales has devoted months to organising the candle-lit service alongside her team, with the event becoming one of the most significant occasions in the future queen’s calendar.

The gathering aims to unite people for a warming celebration as the Christmas season begins, blending traditional carols with musical performances and readings throughout the evening.

Tonight’s service features an impressive lineup of performers and speakers.

Singer-songwriter Katie Melua, Cornish sea shanty group Fisherman’s Friends and artist Griff will deliver special musical performances during the candle-lit ceremony.

Hollywood actors Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor have provided readings for the occasion, joined by comedian Babatunde Aleshe and Heartstopper star Joe Locke.

Pianist Paul Gladstone Reid accompanied the speakers during their contributions to the service.

The service honours individuals throughout the United Kingdom who have volunteered their time for others, spearheaded community initiatives or extended support to those in need.

Kensington Palace shared images of Westminster Abbey’s festive preparations on social media, revealing a Christmas tree adorned with poinsettia blooms, oversized red baubles and artificial candles.

The Royal Horticultural Society provided wreaths for the venue.

“Wonderful to see Westminster Abbey dressed and ready ahead of this evening’s Carol Service,” the Palace stated.

The concert will be broadcast on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.

At the year’s outset, palace sources indicated her comeback following cancer treatment would proceed at a cautious pace.

“It’s still an ongoing process,” one insider told the Mail, “but I think this year has felt much more normal than anyone had expected, or even dared to hope.”

“It’s a new normal rather than the normal we once knew, if that makes sense?” a source said. “We will see the pace of things continue in the same vein without any great change. But the shoots of recovery are definitely there.”
