Good Morning Britain viewers slammed the show for displaying “hypocrisy” after the programme’s meteorologist, Laura Tobin, issued weather updates from Austria.

The weather presenter, who frequently warns viewers about the threats of climate change, was in the village of Innsbruck for an international weather summit, but viewers quickly questioned the need for the gathering.

Chatting to GMB hosts Rob Ringer and Kate Garraway from the snowy Austrian location, she stated: “And here’s some beautiful drone shots of where I am in Innsbruck, the ski resort is called Axamer Lizum, and a week ago, there actually was no snow.

“They had a huge drop over the weekend, just in time for the start of the ski season, it looks absolutely beautiful.

“I am here for an international weather summit, 40 presenters from across Europe coming together to talk about weather and climate.”

Ms Tobin continued by moving on to what people in the UK can expect from the weather in the next few days.

Responding to the clip, one X user wrote: “I’m here to discuss climate so I can preach all about it later. Actually our @Lauratobin1 is on a jolly. The hypocrisy #gmb.”

“#gmb why is your weather woman in Innsbruck she lectures on climate change and here we are.”

Another asked: “WTF is Tobin doing in Innsbruck? #GMB,” while another added: “Laura and another load of weather forecasters flown to Austria to warn about climate change… Makes sense #GMB.”

“How interesting Laura. Wonder how long it too you to walk to Innsbruck? Another hypocrite. #GMB,” someone else complained.

A different X user asked: “Did you enjoy today’s weather with extreme climate globetrotter Laura? That’s right, a vital trip to Innsbruck to show us some snow. #GMB.”

“I see Laura the Explorer the climate change nut job has jetted off to to Austria to read the weather #GMB,” another swiped.

“‘Climate change is bad…. so here I am in f***ing Austria giving a weather update,'” one more fumed.

Others took a more positive approach towards the presenter, with one fan enthusing: “It’s so beautiful there Laura.” (sic)

It’s not the first time the meteorologist has faced backlash for travelling abroad amid her warnings of environmental changes.

Speaking last year to the Express, she defended her occasional travel as she explained: “If I do something, like, we flew to the Arctic, people said, ‘Oh, you’re going to the Arctic to talk about climate change, why are you flying there?’

“We had minimal crew, we flew economy, we offset our carbon footprint, because it was much more valuable to the planet for us telling a story that people would have heard, rather than not going, and not telling it.”
